Gado-gado

Gado-gado is a mix of boiled vegetables, sliced egg, peanut sauce, and a sprinkle of fried onions. It can be eaten as salad, but can also be consumed with white rice or rice cake. Gado-gado’s boiled ingredients actually can be anything one likes. As for semur jengkol, gado-gado can be found easily every where. Gado-gado is probably the most well known Betawi culinary.

Ingredients:

  • green vegetables (long beans, bean sprouts)
  • potatoes, squash or cucumber
  • boiled eggs

Peanut sauce:

  • fried peanut
  • garlic
  • shrimp paste
  • chili
  • pepper
  • lime juice
  • brown sugar

How to Make:

  • Boil or steam vegetables.
  • Prepare the peanut sauce.
  • Mix vegetables with seasoning.
  • Sprinkle fried onions and add chili for better taste.
