Gado-gado is a mix of boiled vegetables, sliced egg, peanut sauce, and a sprinkle of fried onions. It can be eaten as salad, but can also be consumed with white rice or rice cake. Gado-gado’s boiled ingredients actually can be anything one likes. As for semur jengkol, gado-gado can be found easily every where. Gado-gado is probably the most well known Betawi culinary.
Ingredients:
- green vegetables (long beans, bean sprouts)
- potatoes, squash or cucumber
- boiled eggs
Peanut sauce:
- fried peanut
- garlic
- shrimp paste
- chili
- pepper
- lime juice
- brown sugar
How to Make:
- Boil or steam vegetables.
- Prepare the peanut sauce.
- Mix vegetables with seasoning.
- Sprinkle fried onions and add chili for better taste.
