Pesmol

Pesmol is often used as a menu for festivity, such as celebration for marriage, salvation, or circumcision. It is also served as daily dish. Usually the fish used for pesmol is milkfish, although other types of fish, such as java barb and carp, can also be used.

Ingredients:

  • carp or milkfish
  • red or green cayenne pepper
  • oil for sautéing
  • sugar
  • salt
  • vinegar
  • water
  • stinky beans

Ground Spices:

  • fried candlenut
  • garlic
  • red onion
  • roasted turmeric
  • red chili
  • cayenne pepper

How to Make:

  • Heat the oil. Once it is heated, fry the fish until it looks brownish and then place it on a serving plate.
  • For sauces, heat the oil and sautee the spices until it smells fragrant. Then, add sugar, salt, vinegar and water
  • Put cayenne pepper and stirred evenly. Put the sauce over the fish.
